About The Position

Under the mentorship of the Manufacturing engineering team, evaluate bills of materials and assembly routing structures to assist in preparing for migration to a new ERP system.

Requirements

  • Experience with PC based Word, Excel, Power Point, and Solid Works
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in the field of Engineering
  • Good academic standing
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent data analysis skills
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Rising Junior or Senior in a degree program for Bachelor of Science degree (B.S) from a four-year college or university in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand and walk.
  • The employee will frequently be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience in a real-world manufacturing environment to apply knowledge learned in the classroom.
  • With guidance from the manufacturing engineering team, analyze and improve bills of materials and assembly routers for seamless migration to a new ERP system.
  • Develop data analysis skills.
  • Understand how ERP systems work and how the data is updated and maintained to support efficient business processes.
  • Reduce downtime associated with 8 wastes
  • Gain experience with a change management system
  • Participate in a Kaizen event to ensure continuous process improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with interns from other disciplines including Sustaining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials, and Continuous Improvement.
