Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX. We are looking for Summer Internship student to join our Louisville team! In this role, you will participate in LEAN Manufacturing Events as appropriate for functional area of responsibility which includes contributing to Visual Management & Control, Layout, Flow & Linkage and Standard Work relating to Franchise Approach. They will also gain experience in leading the coordination of production and engineering support to ensure that the necessary support elements are available to optimize production efforts. This involves, but is not limited to, maintenance activities; day-to-day troubleshooting of process, product, and equipment problems; and capital equipment. This role is onsite, in Louisville, Kentucky. This role may be eligible for relocation.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience with CAD or model-based software.
  • Experience with data analytics and data visualization.

Responsibilities

  • You will plan, design and implement production processes and layouts across the various Wheel and Brake MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) service centers global network.
  • You will manage medium to large scale projects from initial concept to full implementation across multiple facilities.
  • You will maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
  • You will determine parts and tooling needed in order to achieve production goals according to product specification.
