About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our Taunton facility. This internship provides hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment, supporting the development and production of mission-critical systems. Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country. GDMS has an immediate opening for an Administration Intern to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. This position will support program teams supporting the efforts The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various projects of the GDMS organization and its clients. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Completed at least sophomore year
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance eligibility
  • Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of business principles.
  • Administration Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program with a preference in a related field.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience with data analysis tools
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing engineers in process improvement initiatives
  • Assist with production floor layouts, tooling design, and work instruction documentation
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
  • Help optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost reduction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Production, and Design Engineering
  • Support data collection and analysis for continuous improvement projects
  • Assist with new product introduction (NPI) activities
