About The Position

This role supports Steam Valve Services and involves creating, evaluating, and reviewing manufacturing (MF) documentation to support the valve manufacturing and refurbishment process. You'll analyze shop floor data, design requirements, and manufacturing capabilities to provide quality engineering recommendations for design engineering, with a focus on steam valve components. You'll also provide manufacturing engineering support in preparing detailed manufacturing information such as routing, special tooling costs, and risk assessments for the integration of new products, processes, and technologies into production. Hands-on experience with machining and welding is essential to support the precision and durability required in steam valve operations. Additionally, the role includes the design and fabrication of tooling and fixtures used in valve manufacturing, supporting product quality initiatives, and driving continuous improvement efforts to proactively and reactively minimize non-conformances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Manufacturing or Engineering related concentration.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with machining, welding, assembly procedures and troubleshooting mechanical assemblies.
  • Technical leadership in Manufacturing Safety, Quality, Processes, Technology, and Execution of Product Work scope.
  • Strong communication skills and flexibility to support urgent customer projects, including nights and weekends in the factory.

Responsibilities

  • Create, evaluate, and review MF documentation in support of steam valve manufacturing and refurbishment.
  • Analyze shop floor inputs (data & findings), design requirements, and manufacturing capability to formulate quality design engineering recommendations.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support for new valve products, processes, and technologies (routing, special tooling costs, risks, etc.).
  • Design and manufacture tooling and fixtures for steam valve production.
  • Support product quality and improvements to minimize non-conformance (both proactive and reactive).
