About The Position

Manufacturing Engineer (Entry Level or Associate) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for an Entry Level or Associate Manufacturing Engineer (Level 1 or 2) to join our Space Launch Systems, Exploration Upper Stage team in New Orleans, Louisiana. Join Boeing’s Artemis team — build on a legacy at Michoud, “America’s Rocket Factory” Imagine your work directly enabling humanity’s return to the Moon and paving the way for deep space exploration. As a Manufacturing Engineer on Boeing’s Artemis program, lead in the development of the production systems and processes for the newest product to be added to the Michoud heritage, the Exploration Upper Stage. You will turn the design of the spacecraft into the hardware allowing for humans to land on the moon and beyond once again. A proud heritage — Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) is located in New Orleans East and operated in partnership with NASA, Michoud is often called “America’s Rocket Factory.” It combines one of the world’s largest industrial manufacturing buildings with heavy lift tooling, large format fabrication capability, and a decadeslong heritage of producing the large structures that enable human exploration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems common image (MESci)
  • Experience using Creo
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
  • The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements.
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required.
  • “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies.
  • Participates as a member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to support the integration of technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
  • Supports the development, identification and implementation of conceptual designs and maintenance of the program architecture for build.
  • Participates in the implementation of manufacturing plans.
  • Investigates technical problems.
  • Participates in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies.
  • Interfaces with IPTs and internal customers to develop products, skills, knowledge and experience.
