Manufacturing Engineer – (Time Study Focused) Plattsburgh, NY Position Description Position Overview We are seeking Manufacturing Engineers to support operations in Plattsburgh, NY. This role is focused on conducting detailed time studies and work measurement activities across 1st and 2nd shifts to identify efficiency opportunities, validate cycle times, and provide actionable insights to leadership. The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate closely with shop-floor teams while ensuring minimal disruption to production. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed time-and-motion studies for relevant manufacturing processes. Observe and collect data across both 1st and 2nd shifts to ensure accurate, comparable results. Capture cycle times, delays, bottlenecks, and non-value-added activities. Record, organize, and validate time study data using industrial engineering tools and methods. Analyze workflows, resource utilization, and work content distribution; identify gaps between standard and actual performance. Prepare clear summaries of findings, including charts, observations, and improvement recommendations. Develop or standardize time sheets and process documentation as needed. Present analysis and results to management and cross-functional stakeholders. Collaborate with supervisors, operators, and leadership to understand constraints and opportunities. Ensure minimal disruption to production while conducting studies and implementing recommendations. Required Skills & Qualifications Hands-on experience with time studies, work measurement, and industrial engineering principles. Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize data and create management-ready presentations. Experience with manufacturing environments; railway, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing backgrounds are preferred. Ability to work independently and support activities across multiple shifts. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with shop-floor teams and leadership. Work Location & Schedule Location: Plattsburgh, NY Shift Coverage: 1st and 2nd shift (as required by project needs) Qualifications Engineering degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering. Technical education in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field. Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking). Required Knowledge & Experience Manufacturing or industrial engineering experience. Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering principles. Experience developing manufacturing work instructions and supporting production lines. Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) including BOMs and routings. Knowledge of quality systems, EHS standards, and ergonomics. Familiarity with common industrial engineering tools. Experience with: Process FMEA QRQC or similar problem-solving methodologies Time analysis methods (MTM, MEK, UAS) Behavioral Competencies Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
