About The Position

Responsible for supporting plant operations through completion of engineering and maintenance projects. Design and develop processes for manufacturing needs. Provide engineering support to welding, fabrication, painting, and assembly-line operations.

Requirements

Bachelor degree in engineering or a related field
3+ years experience performing engineering work ideally for a metalworks operation
Experience with controls and PLCs to include programming ability
Knowledgeable of robotic systems as used with manufacturing
Familiarity with metal fabrication and MIG welding processes
Experience working with various tooling and fixtures
Experience with CAD and CAM technology
Working knowledge of procurement processes
Proven success as to solving problems and making decisions
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Effective interpersonal skills that fosters teamwork and aids intraorganizational coordination and cooperation

Responsibilities

Ensures applicable quality standards are met in the introduction of trailer products
Responsible for continual improvement of process and product quality
Manage the engineering design process, installation, MPAP, and long-term technical support of the manufacturing process while meeting quality, capability, and cost targets
Automate existing processes and lead CAPEX projects
Providing controls support for the operations
Ensures tools and fixtures required to support our processes are available and are in good working condition
Introduces new parts and processes to support developing products
Coordinates installation of new production processes in the facility required to produce the trailer products
Create mechanical designs for project work throughout the facility
Assist with improving methods and reducing costs
