Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for manufacturing production cell design using lean manufacturing principles and single-piece flow methods. Responsible to design, fabricate, and troubleshoot production fixtures and equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, production, quality, supply chain, etc.) to determine root cause of supplier and production defects. Lead the design and deployment of corrective actions and verify implementation and effectiveness. Support Site, Focus Factory, and cell KPI (+QDIP) improvements including but not limited to: Safety, OEE, OTD, labor/troubleshooting efficiency and production capacity management. Lead production job hazard analysis and process FMEA to determine top safety and quality risks. Mitigate risks in order from the highest to lowest probability and severity. Responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining production processes. Train production operators on and publish proper assembly techniques for New Product Introduction (NPI) and changes or errors within the current process. Ownership of production routings in SAP. Utilize kaizen events and lean tools to continuously improve production lead times & operator cycle times as well as overall labor productivity. Design and implement data collection processes for relevant manufacturing information. Analyze and create improvement plans to drive continuous improvement. Lead company-strategic Capital Expense and department-level projects from proposal to Release-to-Production (RTP). Evaluate and prioritize by impact. Complete Role Standard Work and deliver all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Level 1: Ability to work in teams and communicate on project team level.
  • Perform root cause and counter measure (RCCM) to improve processes.
  • Electro-mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach to solving issues.
  • Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing skills including Kanban, Standard Work and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Ability to create production tooling in CAD; NX or SOLIDWORKS preferred.
  • Level 2: Experience leading kaizen events including single piece flow, cell design, process mapping, cell setup and root cause and counter measure (RCCM).
  • Project leadership including initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project.
  • Demonstrated cost savings through productivity initiatives.
  • Ability to build teams and communicate on international level.
  • Work with outside vendors and suppliers for application support and process expertise.
  • Ability to design production fixtures in CAD; NX or SOLIDWORKS preferred.
  • Level 3: Experience leading kaizen events including single piece flow, cell design, process mapping, cell setup and root cause and counter measure (RCCM).
  • Project leadership and mentoring including initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project.
  • Ability to build teams and communicate on international level.
  • Demonstrated cost savings through developing a project road map, prioritizing and executing productivity initiatives.
  • Researching and partnering with outside vendors and suppliers for application support and process expertise.
  • Ability to design production fixtures and model assembly operations in CAD; NX or SOLIDWORKS preferred.
  • Level 1: Bachelor of Science degree Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial engineering
  • Level 2: Minimum Bachelor of Science degree Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial engineering with minimum 5+ years related work/project experience. MS degree preferred.
  • Level 3: Bachelor of Science degree Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial engineering with minimum 10+ years related work/project experience or MS degree with 5+ years related experience.
