About The Position

Working at our McAllen Facility: The GE Aerospace facility in McAllen is one of our centers of expertise specializing in the repair of engine components used in commercial and military aircraft. These include LPT Nozzles, HPT Nozzles, and HPT Hangars. You’ll find state-of-the-art technologies in CNC, EDM, and Coating as well as advanced technology development within our new Tech Lab. Role Summary: Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting the production processes used to build products safely, with high quality, and at the lowest sustainable cost. This role translates product designs into efficient, repeatable manufacturing methods, including defining process flows, selecting and designing tooling and fixtures, and establishing standard work. Manufacturing Engineers partner closely with operations, design engineering, quality, and supply chain to launch new products, resolve production issues, and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. They use data-driven problem solving and lean principles to reduce waste, improve process capability, and ensure that manufacturing systems are robust, compliant, and aligned with customer and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Manufacturing)
  • Must pass background and drug screens.
  • Must be willing and able to work second shift
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Responsibilities

  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment
  • Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
  • Leads and tracks repair industrializations aligned with repair readiness levels
  • Leads manufacturing projects
  • Collaborates with the engineering team and operations
  • Investigates, develops, and applies new technology
  • Expected to resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent
  • Communicates with direct team and supervisor
  • Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status and research
  • Works on cross functional teams
