Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of recent Manufacturing Engineering experience in a machine shop or machining environment serving the Aerospace, Defense, or Space markets (required).
  • Hands-on machining experience strongly preferred; ideal candidate has prior experience as a CNC Machinist and progressed into an engineering role.
  • Experience with Mazak and Matsuura milling and mill-turn equipment is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers (ID/OD), depth gauges, and indicators.
  • Ability to read and interpret AD&S part blueprints, engineering models, and specifications with detailed understanding of GD&T.

  • Ensure all processes, components, and systems comply with customer requirements and industry standards for Aerospace, Defense, and Space applications.
  • Review and analyze product design information—including 2D drawings, GD&T, 3D models, and related specifications—to define and propose optimized machining and production processes.
  • Select appropriate tooling and fixturing for production; assist in fixture design and participate in fabrication of setup components.
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives using lean manufacturing tools to minimize variable costs, increase efficiency, improve workflow, and boost throughput.
  • Specify and justify capital equipment upgrades and identify automation opportunities for manual or semi-automated processes.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to the shop floor to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
