About The Position

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Barrett, you’ll drive process improvements across the plant turning innovation into repeatable, world class manufacturing. You’ll plan, coordinate, and refine how our products are built, working closely with internal teams and external partners to keep Barrett at the top of the industry. Design and develop mission-critical manufacturing processes for new products and implement new processes to replace old or obsolete equipment, ensuring scalability, safety, and performance. Update and improve existing products and processes to address design changes, quality concerns, capacity issues, and safety problems through continuous improvement initiatives. Create and maintain process flow charts, process routers, and work instructions, ensuring availability and alignment for Quality Control, Purchasing, Inventory, and Production personnel. Support New Product Development as an active team member by performing related duties needed to successfully manufacture new products from concept through production. Design tools, fixtures, and tooling, source new fixtures and equipment, assess equipment needed for operations, and perform time studies on new and existing processes. Research new technology and perform cost analysis on new and existing processes while conferring with vendors to define product specifications, evaluate quality standards, and support equipment, materials, and parts purchases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering in engineering technology required . A combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of formal education requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ manufacturing experience.
  • Maintain valid driver’s license if relevant for the role.
  • Maintain eligibility to work with firearms under state and federal guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the manufacturing of small arms and ammunition desired.
  • Understanding of GD&T, machining, finishing, and assembly preferred.
  • Proficient in CAD software, SolidWorks experience preferred.
  • Experience using ERP systems.
