The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with manufacturing, planning, and scheduling teams to develop, optimize, and refine production processes. This role requires strong expertise in machining, tooling, plating, materials, and workflow optimization. As a key contributor to operational excellence, the Manufacturing Engineer ensures that processes are efficient, cost-effective, well-documented, and aligned with quality standards. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field OR 7 years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and assembly.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CNC machining, part programming, and fixturing.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Epicor strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of quality control methods and inspection practices.
  • Experience with CAD programs such as SolidWorks.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to resolve production issues.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Design new and improve existing manufacturing processes, tooling, automation, and work instructions using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Review engineering documents and create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Methods of Manufacturing in the ERP system.
  • Schedule and expedite jobs released by planning to maintain production flow.
  • Ensure optimized CNC programs in collaboration with the Programming team.
  • Coordinate tooling and material readiness with Programming, Planning, and Purchasing.
  • Disposition nonconformances and collaborate with Quality and Purchasing on supplier and processing requirements.
  • Plan and establish routing for projects and jobs throughout the facility, defining operations and sequencing.
  • Apply statistical methods and calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staffing needs, and production standards.
  • Lead projects that reduce lead times, cut internal costs, and improve process control and yield.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks while communicating with key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation—including SPC sheets, in-process prints, and work instructions—within the ERP system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
