See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Position Overview: The Manufacturing Engineer supports machining production by developing, optimizing, and sustaining reliable manufacturing processes. This role troubleshoots machining issues, improves tooling strategies, and partners with quality and operations to reduce scrap, variation, and cycle time. The engineer leads process validation activities, supports new product introduction, and drives continuous improvement using structured problem‑solving methods. They also manage capital equipment projects, ensure proper machine and tooling specifications, and maintain clear process documentation. Acting as a technical liaison across engineering and manufacturing teams, the Manufacturing Engineer ensures efficient, capable, and cost‑effective machining operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field is required
  • Strong mechanical as well as "hands on" aptitude
  • Ability to interact & communicate with different functions & various levels of employees
  • Excellent problem solving skills & ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally
  • Proficient with 2D / 3D CAD (Autodesk AutoCAD / PTC CREO or equivalent)
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Knowledgeable in various types of measurement devices
  • Eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
  • Proven record of ownership, follow‑through, and initiating improvements without being prompted

Nice To Haves

  • Spiral bevel or other gear manufacturing experience
  • Machining experience including but not limited to milling, turning, grinding, hobbing, shaping, broaching, friction welding, and heat treat/induction hardening
  • Shop‑floor support experience
  • Familiarity with machining aluminum, stainless steels, and alloy steels
  • Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Participation in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Experience managing capital projects
  • ASQ or SME certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certification

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and develop machining processes, including cutting parameters, tooling, and workholding
  • Collaborate with quality engineers and other teams on corrective actions
  • Investigate root causes of scrap, rework, and dimensional drift
  • Validate processes through PPAP, capability studies, and first-article inspections
  • Create and maintain work instructions, setup sheets, and process documentation
  • Develop and implement both current and new processes ranging in size and scope by monitoring technical developments in machining
  • Investigate, propose, and manage large capital projects (for both current product, as well as long range products)
  • Work closely to ensure proper equipment specification, qualify processes, acquire tooling, resolve ergonomic issues, and rearrange and develop layouts
  • Implement cost reduction programs using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve Control) tools
  • Act as a liaison with product engineering & manufacturing program management as needed
  • Participate in design for manufacturing reviews (DFM) with design engineering
  • Develop prototype machining processes and transition them to production
  • Identify and deliver on opportunities to reduce cycle time, scrap, and tooling cost
