About The Position

Manufacturing Engineer Ingersoll Cutting Tools is one of the world’s leading suppliers of metal cutting tooling systems and an integral member of the IMC Group of Companies, a distinguished corporate holding of Berkshire Hathaway, with over 130 subsidiaries in 60 countries around the world. Ingersoll’s US operations are housed on our state-of-the-art manufacturing and marketing campus in Rockford, Illinois. We are currently accepting applications for a Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer will develop and improve manufacturing processes using traditional and non-traditional company methodologies based on product and factory requirements . A degreed engineer with a manufacturing mindset that can identify and develop complex projects from start to finish would be an excellent fit!

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, such as mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering or technology highly preferred
• 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing engineering role preferred
• 1+ years of experience working in a CNC machine shop environment highly preferred
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to explain technical information effectively
• Understanding and experience with CAD and CAM software (Creo Parametric preferred)

Nice To Haves

• Experience with automation technologies preferred
• Understanding of additive manufacturing technologies preferred

Responsibilities

• Design tooling and fixtures using CAD
• Utilize a strong understanding of CNC machining, grinding and finishing processes
• Prepare and process information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data trends.
• Recognize process weaknesses and present improvement plans
• Develop new manufacturing techniques and conduct training with production employees
• Research and implement new equipment and technologies related to manufacturing
• A mix of office work and working out on the production floor
• Communicating technical information in an effective way to a variety of audiences
