The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for improving the production flow, efficiency, quality, and cost performance of the wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions we produce and building internal capability in structured problem-solving and continuous improvement practices while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a relevant manufacturing engineering or process improvement role.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience with workflow analysis, time studies, and process optimization.
  • Ability to lead improvement initiatives and influence teams in a production environment.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using CAD or CAM software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes, workflow, equipment utilization, and plant layout to enhance overall efficiency and throughput.
  • Develop and maintain clear, standardized work instructions and process documentation to ensure repeatability and consistency.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen activities and value stream mapping, to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Train and coach supervisors and production team members on Lean principles, structured problem-solving, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Support quality and process validation efforts to ensure reliable and compliant manufacturing operations.
  • Utilize data and performance metrics to identify trends, recommend improvements, and support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership to execute improvement priorities.
  • Assist other areas as needed.
