About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting and enhancing our manufacturing operations. This role will focus on improving manufacturing processes, increasing efficiency, and ensuring adherence to customer and industry requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in cable assembly or related manufacturing and will be instrumental in driving process improvements, providing solutions to production challenges, and supporting new product introduction. Responsible for creating and documenting detailed assembly instructions for production personnel to follow. Ensuring customer specific workmanship requirements are being followed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in cable assembly, wire harnessing, or electromechanical assembly.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement tools.
  • Knowledge of IPC-620 and IPC-620-S.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing process development, process validation, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) or other relevant engineering tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes for cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Work closely with production teams to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixturing, and process controls to improve production throughput and repeatability.
  • Evaluate and integrate new equipment and automation technologies to improve manufacturing capabilities.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by developing work instructions or supplemental drawings using Visio or Word.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace, space, and defense industry standards such as AS9100, IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA STD-8739, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Resolve production issues by collaborating with quality and engineering manager to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Train production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
