About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for eliminating waste in the manufacturing process and applying innovative systems and solutions to improve company workflows. Works with the actual machinery and physical setup of a factory to implement new technology and facilitate each step of production. Their role is to set criteria for quality and speed, then consistently measure manufacturing behaviors and evaluate their success. Also responsible for identifying delays in production and sources of waste, then using technology and engineering principles to refine the system. They adjust production lines and integrate new technology to improve the supply and production chain. Manufacturing Engineers can train factory staff on how to properly incorporate new technology and methods into current production standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering.
  • Manufacturing Engineering: 5+ years manufacturing/industrial (Required).
  • Has worked in machining (working knowledge of lathes and CNC), welding, and mechanic shop.
  • Has management experience
  • Sense of urgency and ability to withstand demanding workflow.
  • Patient with solid work ethic
  • Attention to detail.
  • Hands-on, results oriented attitude.
  • Capacity to handle fast paced and changing environments.
  • Able to remain flexible and adaptable to change.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Proficient in Auto CAD and SolidWorks
  • Experience with ERP systems required.
  • Project Management training and experience as Project Manager
  • Able to support multiple efforts and track progress against timelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Ability to define problems, research, and check facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge of 5 S. Lean Manufacturing Process

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in Manufacturing Engineering (Preferred).
  • Lean Manufacturing Green Belt: (preferred in in lieu of years of experience).
