About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer provides a high level of expertise to support and improve the manufacture of both existing and new products and associated processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will utilize lean manufacturing principles and apply those principles to improve Manufacturing Processes, Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery goals of the organization.

Requirements

Associates degree in Engineering related field or completion of RTMA Tool and Die Apprenticeship program.
3 - 5 years of experience in aerospace machining and/or assembly required, or equivalent combination of both.
Working knowledge of blueprints and GD&T.
Proficient in Solidworks
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong written and verbal communications skills, excellent phone, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with people at all levels are required

Responsibilities

Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
Use Lean methodologies to improve processes.
Involved with both short and long-term planning activities.
Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
Develop process prints and associated documentation as necessary.
Develop time standards and assist in monitoring efficiency of current production.
Provide cost estimating and methods for quoting purposes.
Create and Maintain BoMs, routings, processing and other related documents to reflect current production methods.
Process and update work orders as required.
Maintain and update all process documentation based on engineering changes or other required process changes.
Develop tooling and fixture designs as needed to support production.
Identify current and future capital equipment needs/justifications.
Provide updates to management and others as required on project status.
Be a mentor for shop-floor personnel in the use of existing and new manufacturing processes.
Communicate and interact efficiently and effectively with Managers, Peers and production personnel.
Collaborate with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, and manufacturing capabilities.
Support and adhere to applicable Safety, Quality, and organizational policies/procedures.
