Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or other related Engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team first attitude w/the ability to work & produce results independently
  • Self-starter with ability to effectively utilize resources to solve problems
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills with heavy utilization of advanced Excel tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbal & written), Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Become knowledgeable in all the manufacturing processes involved with producing wire & cable as well as cable & T/C assembly best practices.
  • Knowledge of Extrusion process as well as Injection Molding desired.
  • Work closely with the Engineering and Operations teams to ensure efficiency of production floor processes. Analyze production processes and implement process improvements.
  • Must be a “Hands on Engineer” who is able to utilize small hand tools to cut & strip wire and cables.
  • Perform 1st builds of custom cable assemblies and create detailed instructions for our manufacturing associates.
  • Work on improvement projects, such as helping establish & implementing standard labor rates.
  • General focus on CI/Lean via process improvement and cost savings/cost reduction/cost avoidance projects.
  • Reduction of waste & process improvement via Yield Management program.
  • Develop and/or update SOPs for manufacturing processes.
  • Identify root cause of nonconformances. Develop corrective/preventative actions through use of various problem-solving methods such as DOE, 5 Y, 8D, A3, fishbone diagrams and FMEA
  • Assist with installation/commissioning/qualification of new equipment.
  • Interfacing with various wire & cable industry vendors.
  • Participate in or lead Kaizen events.
  • Assist with visual factory management
  • Other duties as assigned
