About The Position

Client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a direct-hire position located at their state-of-the-art facility in Sumter, SC located about 30 minutes northeast of Columbia, SC. This position reports to the Engineering Supervisor. Responsible for the implementation of project and process support activities toward attainment of departmental and plant goals. Primary focus in areas of capacity expansion, quality/waste improvement and cost improvement programs. Required to handle multiple assignments of varying scope and complexity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the following areas: 1- synchronous and asynchronous assembly platforms 2- cam-operated equipment 3- pneumatics 4- servo controlled assembly and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing initiatives with an emphasis in continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

• Preferably in the high-speed production of medical devices.
• Six Sigma certification (greenbelt or blackbelt) preferred.
