About The Position

Schneider Electric is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as an Manufacturing Engineer responsible for deploying Lean methods & concepts, leading 6 sigma project development, time-motion studies, sheet metal and bus fabrication machinery, paint and epoxy lines. What will you do? Specify, acquire, set up, operate, and maintain metal fabrication for MV switchgear production. Oversee sheet metal and bus fabrication using turret punching, laser cutting, press brake bending, and welding machinery. Perform a variety of engineering work which may be related to process design/layout, mechanical, manufacturing, tooling, and safety. Manage epoxy coating and paint processes. Develop value stream maps, design line architecture, perform NC programming, and maintenance. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements including LOTO, OSHA, EPA, and SE165. Exercise judgement within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion (based upon Schneider Production System principles) for obtaining results. Work with other engineers, designers, maintenance, supervisors, and hourly line associates to effectively solve issues, implement solutions, and support Continuous/Safety improvement implementation all under the Schneider Production System principles. Support launch projects, determine cost estimates, design concepts and engineering criteria along with conceptual process layouts for given project. Support process tooling, fixture, and equipment design, purchase, and maintenance. Develop process, safety, ergonomic, and material handling improvement solutions. Serve manufacturing operations as key support person leading resolutions to problems, implementing improvement, and leading projects to completion. Equipment and Tooling: Selecting, designing, and maintaining the appropriate tools and equipment needed for wiring and testing operations to maximize productivity and quality. Develop reports in Business Intelligence (BI) and data analytics tools, such as Tableau and Power BI, to provide insights on the operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related field is required.
  • Proficiency in sheet metal and bus fabrication machinery.
  • Proficiency in CAD, SAP, MS Excel and MS Access (or other database programming, such as SQL).
  • Knowledge of epoxy coating and paint processes.
  • Experience in value stream mapping, line architecture design, NC programming, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of safety and regulatory requirements for LOTO, OSHA, EPA, and SE165.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with robotics programming is considered a plus.
