About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in supporting production operations by developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing processes for automotive components. This position ensures that manufacturing systems are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing and a strong understanding of lean principles, automation, and process optimization. Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing automotive products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, and launch readiness activities.
  • Familiarity with SAP ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
  • Experience with injection molding processes and tooling.
  • Experience with vision systems used in poka-yoke (error-proofing) applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing automotive products.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Maintenance, Production, and Supply Chain.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support launch activities for new programs, including equipment installation, process validation, and operator training.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineer to develop and maintain process documentation including work instructions, PFMEAs, and control plans.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Interface with OEM customers and Tier Two suppliers as needed.
