Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform new or updated layout drawings to support plant engineering and maintenance projects
  • Use software such as AutoCAD and Vault to evaluate the feasibility of designs for assembly and machining operations
  • Advise plant team on layout standards to support Global Ford Production System and Manufacturing Engineering requirements (safety, ergonomics, flow, etc.)
  • Maintain Sterling Plant’s layout, machine, and electrical drawings in Ford’s Vault drawing management system
  • Be a knowledge resource for locating legacy drawings and prints
  • Support efforts to improve organization of Sterling’s files within Vault
  • Act as one of the plant innovation team leaders -- lead team meetings; network with other regional innovation teams and the corporate ATP team; publicize the plant’s innovation efforts.
  • Provide support for Plant Innovation projects within the realm of 3D Printing, Digitalization, Analytics, and others.
  • Asset management - lead the annual verification process, and manage the asset movement and financial process
  • Lead document management process for asset transfers, disposals, equipment sales, etc.
  • Be the Central Engineering lead for the asset MCRP audit process; provide documents and support
  • Lead ad-hoc Plant Engineering assignments such as creating / ordering signs and displays, supporting office layout changes, plant event prep, etc.
  • Lead 6-Sigma / DMAIC projects, to support and document continuous improvement actions.
  • Support other plant DMAIC projects
