The Manufacturing Engineer at Backer Hotwatt, Inc. plays a key role in optimizing production processes, enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. Reporting to the Engineer Manager, this role provides critical engineering support to the factory by developing and implementing systems, layouts, and methods to improve manufacturing productivity and safety.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solidworks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a manufacturing engineer.
Responsibilities
- Design, redesign, or enhance work areas, workflows, and layouts to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Maintain knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, trends, and technology, and apply this knowledge to maintain a competitive edge.
- Support and promote the 6S program to ensure a clean and efficient workplace.
- Establish and maintain time standards for measuring efficiency and quantifying labor costs.
- Identify and assess deviations from manufacturing standards and recommend practical solutions.
- Develop and maintain systems for management information, planning, and control.
- Implement methods and process modifications to reduce production costs and improve overall performance.
- Update routings and bills of materials (BOMs) as needed to ensure accurate production documentation.
- Participate in and support safety initiatives to ensure a safe working environment.
