About The Position

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate receipt, storage, packaging, and shipment of goods. This role involves managing inventory, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, safe operation of equipment, and ensuring proper handling of products to maintain quality and product integrity throughout the process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with inventory management, ERP systems, logistics software such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc., email and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, often up to 70 pounds or more.
  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments, inspect for accuracy, damages, or shortages.
  • Verify contents of packages against shipping documents and purchase orders.
  • Record received goods into inventory management systems.
  • Organize and properly store received items in designated areas.
  • Safely utilize load moving equipment
  • Keep a clean and safe work area.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling for both domestic and international shipments.
  • Ensure accurate quantities and items are being shipped based on orders.
  • Must be customer and quality centric in preparing shipments.
  • Follow shipping instructions or special procedures.
  • Ensure all shipments are made on time.
  • Arrange transportation carriers and schedule pickups for outgoing shipments.
  • Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and necessary documentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and records.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in periodic inventory audits when needed.
  • Communicate inventory issues or shortages to the appropriate department.
  • Inspect products for damages, defects, or discrepancies before shipment.
  • Follow quality assurance procedures to maintain product integrity.
  • Collaborate with carriers and internal departments to coordinate shipments.
  • Communicate with internal departments upon receipts of goods.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Report any issues or delays in shipments to management promptly.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while handling materials and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment.
