Manufacturing Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) Space Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SI&WS) has an exciting opportunity for an innovative, highly motivated, people focused, and growth motivated Mid-Level or Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to join our Experimental Systems Group (ESG) at Kennedy Space Center, FL. ESG supports a variety of government customers spanning technology domains, and is a fast-paced, responsive development environment delivering new capabilities to customers rapidly and affordably. The ESG portfolio consists of a range of platforms and technologies including the X-37B, the world’s first fully autonomous reusable spaceplane, which recently landed from its seventh and most ambitious flight yet. A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out in the factory, interacting with mechanics, and directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, working as a Manufacturing Engineer, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity. Position Responsibilities: Develop, identify, and implement conceptual designs while maintaining the program architecture for build. Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines. Lead and implement manufacturing plans. Conduct producibility and variation analyses to ensure manufacturing process capability aligns with requirements. Analyze design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions. Develop and implement production and tooling methodologies. Assist in providing producibility information for project plans and document best practices. Resolve technical problems that significantly impact performance, cost, or schedule. Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies, and concepts. Validate and ensure production readiness of solutions to complex problems. Implement lean principles and technologies Develops and maintains complex business system factory definition to be used for manufacturing planning. Partnering with other organizations in the evaluation and refinement of program goals, business objectives, decision support needs, and both the data and performance requirements to meet program/project level objectives. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
