Primary Location: United States (US) - Louisiana - Thibodaux Function: Factory Engineering (CA) Title: Manufacturing Engineer, Weld - 118197 Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position Your Responsibilities As a Weld Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Thibodaux located in Thibodaux, Louisiana, you will be responsible for supporting weld operations through Order Fulfillment Processes (OFP) and Product Delivery Process (PDP). In addition, you will:

Requirements

  • 4 or more years' experience in a welding manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality, tooling, preventative maintenance and facilities
  • 4 or more years' experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • 2 or more years of experience with engineering tools, systems and databases
  • Project management experience - Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on sequencing and scheduling tasks into a project plan
  • Demonstrated skills with electronic tools such as Creo, Creo-View, and dimensional inspection software
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and have a collaborative mindset

  • Robotic welding experience
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with both salary and wage employees
  • Experience managing and applying safe systems of work without supervision and providing technical guidance when required
  • Identifies, assesses, prioritizes and manages risks without supervision and provides technical guidance when required
  • Degree in Weld Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) - improving Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Delivery through data driven proactive projects
  • Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Apply mistake proofing methodology proactively to high-risk processes and recurring quality nonconformance issues
  • Develop and modify Operator Method Sheets (visual work instructions) as required
  • Support John Deere Manufacturing Execution System’s weld strategy
  • Contribute to the welding process strategy and smart connected factory road map
  • Support multi-functional Quality Improvement Teams (QIT) tasked with improving overall weld quality
  • Provide project management leadership in capital projects with a focus on safety, productivity, and capacity
