Requirements

  • Must have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial) or related field
  • 18 months of relevant manufacturing engineering experience; and required skills.
  • Requires skills (18 months) in: computer and data analysis to evaluate manufacturing processes; and (12 months) in: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general support to engineering dept. Identify potential areas of product improvements; recommend & assist w/ development of appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor & improve machine processes, develop work instructions, & train employees.
  • Improve OEE across plant by using downtime tracking tools & creating pareto charts of downtime events.
  • Participate in implementing safety improvements.
  • Evaluate & improve manufacturing processes by designing & conducting research programs.
  • Assist in determining root cause & provide corrective action w/ customer product complaints.
  • Participate in projects that support in reducing downtime & scrap.
  • Investigate operational problems affecting production.
  • Validate implemented manufacturing process improvements to ensure desired results & sustainability.
  • Develop/improve the lean processes according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/developed work instructions.
  • Refer to more senior engineering staff for complex reviews.
  • Assist senior engineers in developing new methods to improve product quality & process efficacy/efficiency.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock & vibration.
  • Noise level in work environment is usually loud.
  • Potential exposure to hot plant temperatures on a seasonal basis.
  • Little national travel may be involved to view & approve new equipment.
  • Max length of single trip less than 5 days.
