Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor for a position at the Mechanical Manufacturing Center (MMC), located on the Waterton Campus in Littleton, Colorado. The MMC Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team supports a variety of production areas, including additive manufacturing, traditional machining, mechanism assembly, composite fabrication, and structural assembly. The chosen candidate would join our collaborative team as a working supervisor, leading a group of MEs supporting a variety of areas and products, while also providing direct ME support themselves. Scope of responsibilities will include: Leading subordinate employees through employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessments, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Ensuring processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. Helping the to team deliver commitments by monitoring metrics and using creative problem solving to take action. Providing shop floor support, maintaining manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, engineering change implementation and coordinating changes in the build process for a specific program or production area. Accomplish results by utilizing multi-functional team, including Technicians, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Test Engineering, MRP/Parts Production Control, and Planning/Scheduling to meet program needs Providing guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Interact across all levels of the organization; efficiently and effectively communicate and implement agreed upon changes; navigate difficult situations and conversations to a productive outcome. Creating procedures and operations for the fabrication and/or rework of hardware. Translate engineering drawings and parts lists into easy-to-follow work instructions for the production floor. Assessing defective hardware and creating procedures for rework or reprocessing. Interfacing with shop floor personnel to implement process improvements to gain efficiencies and represent manufacturing in peer reviews of engineering drawings to enhance the design for manufacturability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to drive change through affordability initiatives, driving successful change by engaging stakeholders and building alignment.
  • Direct experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar technical authority in production.
  • Experience with assembly, mechanisms, or machine shop manufacturing.
  • Understanding of design for producibility (DFx/DFm) principles.
  • Experience with technical writing, ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (applying GD&T fundamentals) and specifications, and building bills of materials.
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space or industry equivalent tools (ERP/SAP, EPDM, VECAMS, PMP Database, Creo, etc.)
