About The Position

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a talented and driven Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Greenville, SC. Manufacturing Engineers are key players throughout all stages of a platform’s lifecycle, from development and full-rate production to post-delivery sustainment and modifications. In this role, you’ll contribute to shaping manufacturing plans, implementing innovative solutions, and ensuring efficient aircraft production. You are a detail-oriented and results-driven professional with a strong background in manufacturing or production, ideally within the aerospace or similar industries. Requirements

  • STEM Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Professional experience in an engineering discipline
  • Experience with corrective action and process improvement efforts
  • Experience in analyzing and resolving technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership on technical matters
  • Experience in coordinating across organizations to ensure deliverables
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling
  • Experience within a lead role coordinating efforts across their team and mentoring younger engineers

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years exposure to aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Strong project/time management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
  • Background and working knowledge of tool design and tooling issues
  • Ability to interpret structural and systems engineering drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams to and grow personnel

Responsibilities

  • Providing hands-on support to the shop floor, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and driving timely resolutions to maintain production schedules
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, quality engineering, industrial engineering, and shop personnel, to optimize manufacturing processes and address technical challenges.
  • Leading and participating in initiatives for process improvements, cost reductions, and production innovations to enhance manufacturing performance.
  • Analyzing data and metrics to identify trends, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Supporting the standup of full-rate production and sustaining modifications for delivered platforms.
  • Acting as a mentor and technical leader for junior engineers and shop floor personnel, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring all manufacturing processes comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
