About The Position

You will be the Manufacturing Engineer, Senior for the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) development team. Our team is responsible for improving the producibility of early designs and creating manufacturing plans and processes for the NGI program as it transitions from development to low‑rate initial production. As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting a team focused on ensuring designs are producible and cost‑competitive. You will evaluate designs, develop manufacturing readiness assessments, and create proposals to meet customer needs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering discipline
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; an Interim Secret clearance is required prior to start
  • A broad base of professional knowledge regarding electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical production
  • Professional experience with product manufacturability (DFM), producibility, and design for cost (DFC)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the design and manufacturing of complex electromechanical systems
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, manufacturing tooling design, factory design, and factory flow
  • Shop floor Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Experience in program development with emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and leadership
  • Statement of work and proposal development experience
  • Experience with Make-Buy generation and strategy
  • Experience in the design of manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, machining and material handling
  • Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) knowledge/experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
  • Ability to travel domestic and/or internationally 25-30%

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating designs and providing manufacturing feedback
  • Developing manufacturing readiness assessments and proposals
  • Creating manufacturing bill of materials (MBOMs) and assessing make or buy decisions
  • Presenting program status information to customers and stakeholders
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including Production Operations, Program Management, and Engineering and Technology stakeholders
  • Supporting fabrication of early development builds and presenting at design and manufacturing reviews
