About The Position

As Manufacturing Engineer – Purchasing - Supplier Designed Components, you will be responsible to lead all aspects of the external supply chain manufacturing activities with accountability to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met for the designated programs and components. You will work in a cross functional team, with manufacturing emphasis, to achieve procurement objectives. In this role, you will travel up to 30% domestically. Why Rolls-Royce? Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering, Technology or Business with 4+ years of experience within Operations, Manufacturing, Quality or Purchasing, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology or Business with 2+ years of experience within Operations, Manufacturing, Quality or Purchasing, OR
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology or Business, OR
  • JD/PhD in Engineering, Technology or Business, OR
  • 6+ years of experience in Operations, Manufacturing, Quality or Purchasing in lieu of a degree
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Strong understanding of SABRe, FAIR, PPAP requirements
  • Experience operating within a global manufacturing environment
  • Controls and hydromechanical component manufacturing experience with certification processes
  • Experience in robust design methodologies and design of manufacturing tooling, gaging, and fixtures
  • Demonstrated experience working with suppliers to delivering world class manufacturing performance

Responsibilities

  • Provide manufacturing input to design engineering to assure component designs are produceable & facilitate design for manufacturer supplier events
  • Represent manufacturing perspective regarding component sourcing strategy
  • Work with Procurement & Quality organization to stand up new suppliers
  • Develop & conduct supplier manufacturing readiness and technical risk assessments
  • Provide support to supplier with respect to quality requirements (APQP, FAIR, PPAP; Drawing Alteration Requests, SABRe)
  • Perform supplier hardware delivery source inspections
  • Create the environment for continuous improvement with the emphasis on sharing and searching for best practice
