About The Position

You will be the Manufacturing Engineer (Missile Assembly) – Weekend Shift for the Pike County Operations (PCO). What You Will Be Doing As the Manufacturing Engineer (Missile Assembly) – Weekend Shift you will be responsible for solving technical issues on the production shop floor, developing and improving manufacturing processes, integrating new technologies, and enhancing digital tools to boost productivity. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Provide hands‑on shop‑floor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues. Analyze engineering data to develop new manufacturing processes and detailed work instructions. Integrate new assets and technologies into the factory to advance production capabilities. Support continuous‑improvement initiatives that drive quality, cost, and schedule performance. Investigate root causes of quality defects and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline at the Bachelor level or above and 1+ years professional experience; or 4 years of related professional experience.
  • Must be willing and able to work the Weekend Shift - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Knowledgeable of General Manufacturing Processes in a Production Factory environment.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of mechanical hands-on assembly / disassembly / troubleshooting skills to perform or assist in missile assembly and test along with repairing nonoperating tools and industrial equipment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance. Lockheed Martin will assist selected candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting.
  • Additionally, the candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background check to obtain approval to be an “employee possessor” (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience interpreting engineering requirements from product data models, drawings, parts lists and specifications to generate manufacturing processes and conduct detailed failure analysis for determining root cause and implementing the corrective / preventative actions to eliminate defects.
  • Experience in an Aerospace/Automotive Manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge with various robotic applications (collaborative, material removal/finishing, material handling, and painting)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing software DELMIA Apriso Manufacturing Execution System (MES), PTC Creo CAD, Windchill PLM with MPMLink and Systems Applications & Products (SAP) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools.
