Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, from an accredited university
  • 4+ years of technical engineering and hands-on experience with fabrication and mechanical assembly
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications
  • CAD experience
  • This position involves access to export-controlled technology which requires U.S. Person status or government authorization. A ‘U.S. Person,’ as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62, includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence (green card holders), and individuals granted asylum or refugee status in the United States. To be considered for this position, you must either be a U.S. Person or fall within a legally recognized export control exception or authorization. If hired, you will be required to provide valid proof of such status.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production troubleshooting support and daily direction to both hourly and salary manufacturing personnel.
  • Develop and maintain assembly work instructions, repair plans, and vendor fabrication instructions.
  • Design and implement new and revised assembly and inspection tooling.
  • Review, interpret, and approve engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Lead process improvement, driving labor hour and cycle reduction initiatives and enhanced productivity.
  • Provide ME/DFM input on proposals, NPI design activity, and engineering change requests.
  • Pursue new technology initiatives and R&D.
  • Lead and support equipment upgrades through research, analysis, selection, purchase, and installation.
  • Author SOWs for tools and equipment designed and manufactured externally
  • Ensure processes prioritize safety and ergonomics.
  • Support FAA, NADCAP, AS9100, and Customer audit activity
  • Investigate product quality issues and implement improvements related to RCCA and defect reduction.
  • Participate in regular cross-functional meeting with operations, quality, design, and program management
  • Lead activities related to factory layout and capacity planning.
