In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the final assembly operation for Small Track Type Tractors and the lineside material setup for Small Track Type Tractors and Mini-hydraulic Excavators by providing tooling, processes, equipment, etc. through coordination of a technical staff assigned to provide for the needs of the shop operation. What you can look forward to in this role: Provide Technical Expertise and Support for the Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead the Planning and Manufacturing Engineering team to achieve safety goals, capacity requirements, product cost and quality commitments. Lead the Planning and Manufacturing Engineering team for line balancing activities, line side inventory strategy and implementation, development of part kitting strategies and other lean activities to optimize the assembly process. Manage Capital projects to achieve goals related to RFI approval, spend targets, and expense budgets for smaller projects. Ensure that the 5-year capital plan positions the Assembly teams to achieve long-term PQVC (People, Quality, Velocity and Cost) Coordinates the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical Assembly Line Process. Ensures optimum utilization of equipment and space by coordinating the layout of areas such as storage areas, test equipment, etc. to accommodate the changing production requirements. Establishes standards and works with shop personnel to resolve problems related to the Assembly process, and equipment, etc. Supervise a work unit of management and salaried employees where planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reviewing work of subordinates is required. Serve as a liaison between Product Design engineering and manufacturing teams.
