About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer, Lean & Continuous Improvement is responsible for supporting design-for-manufacturability (DFM), leading new product introductions (NPI) into production, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across existing manufacturing lines. This role focuses on improving labor efficiency, process flow, cost, quality, and on-time delivery through the application of lean manufacturing, time studies, and data-driven decision making. The position partners closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure scalable, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Experience with six sigma, manufacturing systems development and implementing and managing productivity improvement programs.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Strong ability to prepare and present operations and project reports.
  • Strong PC skills, MS office suite and CAD.
  • Minimum 3-5 years as a manufacturing engineer for electronics products.
  • Six Sigma training.
  • BS degree in Industrial and/or Manufacturing engineering.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 helpful.
  • Able to multi-task and make decisive decisions with excellent communication and training skills.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with the requirements of the Management System.
  • Liaison and support, engineering, product managers, customer service, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, EH&S and supply chain teams
  • Define and implement safe manufacturing processes to ensure quality products, process capability, teamwork, and continues process improvement.
  • Ensure manufacturing is building product in conformance to current engineering documentation through the implementation of work instructions and/or process control.
  • Define and implement Time Study programs to monitor process efficiency.
  • Controlling Work Instructions in Manufacturing.
  • Support and implement manufacturing KPI program.
  • Lead and implement lean manufacturing and kaizen activities.
  • Participate in problem solving techniques to optimize system capabilities for manufacturing processes.
  • Lead and implement manufacturing cost savings programs.
  • Estimate production costs, develop cost saving and waste elimination initiatives, in order to achieve manufacturing cost reduction goals
  • Support and implement scrap reduction and MRB improvement program(s).
  • Introduce manufacturing procedures and systems.
  • Train manufacturing personnel on proper assembly techniques and job specific safety hazards.
