About The Position

In this internship, you will support ongoing operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This internship offers hands-on exposure to manufacturing systems, process optimization, data analysis, and documentation standardization. The intern will work closely with manufacturing engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel on projects that improve equipment reliability, process control, and production readiness.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a four-year college or university program related to Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
  • Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations)

Responsibilities

  • Help identify and document critical spare parts for manufacturing equipment.
  • Work with maintenance and engineering teams to reduce downtime risk and improve readiness
  • Organize and improve heater band inventory systems.
  • Assist with labeling, part identification, and inventory best practices.
  • Convert wire saw Excel spreadsheets into standardized, production-ready recipes.
  • Develop laminator recipes based on operator notes and real-world process knowledge.
  • Help turn “tribal knowledge” into clear, repeatable manufacturing documentation.
  • Support SPC evaluation efforts, starting with extruding operations.
  • Collect and analyze process data to understand variation and process stability.
  • Learn how engineers use data to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Assist in all other reasonable job-related tasks
