Performs entry-level tasks to support the development and implementation of optimal, cost-effective manufacturing systems in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college pursuing an Engineering or similar degree
  • Experienced in 3D CAD modeling software
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in English
  • Highly organized, self-motivated and can work independently
  • Must be highly self-motivated, work with minimal supervision and be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills as well as excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing engineering on active projects
  • Develop and revise CAD drawings, including flat patterns, fixtures, jigs, and weldments
  • Updating building layout in AUTOCAD in line with new production lines
  • Create and maintain fixtures and jigs to support production line efficiency and quality
  • Identify and mitigate high-risk equipment and tooling issues through repair or replacement strategies
  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, production flow, and assembly methods
  • Prepare and maintain facility and equipment layouts for efficient workflow
  • Perform cost, quality, and efficiency analysis for products and processes
  • Write and implement work instructions and procedures for machine setups, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Evaluate and improve new product designs for manufacturability and efficiency
  • Address ergonomic and efficiency improvements in production processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment or tooling issues with cost-effective solutions
  • Other duties as assigned including training others on known processes
