Introducing and establishing new life science manufacturing technology to Resonetics such as laser cutting, laser ablation, laser welding, and associated manufacturing technologies contract medical device manufacturing, plus providing a technical liaison between the Applications Engineering organization and Production. This senior-level, hands-on engineering role focuses on the implementation and continuous improvement of laser-based and associated manufacturing processes for contract medical device manufacturing. The Manufacturing Engineer III serves as a critical technical liaison between Applications Engineering and Production, ensuring successful process transfer, validation, and sustained manufacturing performance. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrated technical writing and documentation skills
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting and implementation capability

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with QSR or ISO 13485 is required.
  • Prior experience working in an engineering role within the medical device industry
  • Experience or knowledge in Laser and Optical Theory
  • Experience or knowledge in Laser Processing of metal based materials

Responsibilities

  • Introduce, establish, and scale manufacturing capacity for metal- and polymer-based medical device production
  • Implement advanced manufacturing technologies including laser cutting, laser ablation, laser welding, and related processes
  • Take ownership of assigned manufacturing processes as they transition from production readiness into full-scale manufacturing
  • Provide hands-on technical support during process validation and ensure smooth transition into production
  • Drive manufacturing efficiency improvements including setup reduction, process optimization, and yield enhancement
  • Develop and implement statistical process control (SPC) and performance metrics
  • Establish job cost baselines and lead cost reduction initiatives
  • Design and execute continuous improvement plans for existing production jobs
  • Review existing manufacturing procedures to ensure compliance with designed process intent
  • Modify and author procedures as required, securing approval from originating process engineers
  • Support compliance with Quality System Regulations (QSR) and ISO 13485 requirements
  • Provide job setup assistance and hands-on process training for manufacturing operators
  • Act as a technical liaison between Applications Engineering, Production, Quality, and Customers
  • Participate in production readiness activities for new customers and new product introductions
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on activities and key performance indicators
  • Interface periodically with customers on quality, technical, or continuation engineering matters
  • May serve as Project Manager for specific customer applications
