Required Skills : 3-5 years experience in an industrial metal fabrication environment—including machining of parts from billet, and cutting and forming of sheet metal parts using lasers, press brakes, and stamping presses—and mechanical assembly operations with basic familiarity with metals’ material properties, OR 3-5 years in an industrial assembly environment directly supporting sequential mechanical assembly operations. Experience in technical writing and development of detailed work instructions for assembly and rework operations, including experience researching, interpreting, and translating industrial standards or specifications from engineering drawings into work instructions for a production team. Experience using 3D CAD programs (PTC Creo preferred) to create production drawings from model. Familiarity with and ASME Y14-series standards (including Y14.5 GD&T) and experience reading and interpreting assembly drawings. Training or Education in the Design of Tooling, Fixturing, Jigs, and support structures for assembly operations Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI) principles Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills (linear algebra, geometry, trigonometry) Desired Skills : 3-5 years of experience as an engineer in aerospace and/or defense manufacturing environment (experience in AS9100 aerospace manufacturing a plus) Experience using ERP platforms to generate production routings and Bills of Material (BOM)—SAP S/4HANA preferred Experience with Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes and Quality Processes (preferably as they align with AS9100 or IEEE 15288) Familiarity with ASME Y14.43 (Gage Tolerancing) Experience using PDM suites (Windchill preferred) to manage production process documents Familiarity with National Industry Standards such as ASME, ASTM, SAE standards, and MIL-STDs in regards to fabrication, assembly, and testing procedures and requirements (Ability to Reference, Interpret, and integrate into detailed work instructions) Experience serving on Kaizen or Tiger teams for Continuous Improvement or OPEX, and experience developing Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic systems preferred Education Requirements: Bachelor’s of Science with concentrations in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, MET, Industrial Engineering (IE) Must be a US Citizen with ability to pass a criminal background check (active possession or eligibility to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance preferred)
