The engineer in this role will support manufacturing operations, drive process improvements and contribute to the development of new and enhanced products. This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality, optimizing performance and collaborating cross-functionally to meet business and production objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in engineering, manufacturing or a related discipline
  • Working knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes and problem-solving methodologies
  • Ability to analyze data, identify root causes and implement effective solutions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and process optimization
  • Familiarity with quality systems and regulatory requirements
  • Experience leading projects or mentoring team members
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the creation, review and maintenance of documentation to ensure full compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Provide support to the manufacturing organization to facilitate efficient operations within the production area, optimize existing processes and ensure production goals are met.
  • Monitor performance of equipment, machines and tools, and correct equipment problems or process parameters that produce nonconforming products, low yields or product quality issues.
  • Interface with Quality and Research and Development organizations to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area.
  • Initiate and complete technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes for current programs, next-generation programs and to meet strategic company goals. Prepare reports, publish findings and deliver presentations.
  • Analyze and solve problems using engineering principles, theories and concepts, including complex and advanced challenges requiring innovative approaches or technological breakthroughs.
  • Apply and expand knowledge of engineering principles, practices and techniques, developing expertise in a specialized area and contributing in leadership capacities.
  • Incorporate business policies and procedures into task execution, demonstrating understanding of customer needs, business cycles and emerging technology trends.
  • Build and cultivate internal and external networks to support project execution. Contribute to onboarding and training of new employees and may lead project teams, including setting goals and mentoring team members.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and serve as a consultant on engineering or scientific matters. Act as a spokesperson to internal and external stakeholders regarding current and future capabilities.
  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all documented quality processes and procedures.
  • Support a work environment that promotes adherence to the Boston Scientific Quality Policy and Quality System requirements, when applicable.
