The Arden Hills Operations team is seeking a mid-level engineer with machining experience in electrical discharge machining (EDM), small-hole EDM, Swiss lathes, or CNC milling. This role supports a rapidly growing product line and contributes to new product development, manufacturing line support and advanced problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. This position plays a key role in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving product quality and driving innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience solving technical and engineering problems.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a machining environment with wire EDM, CNC milling or Swiss lathe equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in process improvement and design for manufacturability.
  • Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated project management experience leading technical problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software.
  • Experience with CAM software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing to ensure efficient operations, optimized processes and achievement of production goals.
  • Monitor equipment, machines and tooling performance; troubleshoot and resolve issues related to nonconforming product, low yield or quality concerns.
  • Interface with quality and research and development teams to integrate new products and processes into manufacturing.
  • Initiate and execute technical activities to develop new or improved products and processes aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Prepare technical reports and deliver presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Design fixtures, select tooling and develop programs or processes to improve existing production and support new product development.
  • Apply engineering principles and problem-solving techniques to address a range of manufacturing challenges.
  • Incorporate business policies and procedures into project execution and demonstrate understanding of customer and business needs.
  • Identify and apply emerging technologies and trends to improve manufacturing capabilities.
  • Build and leverage internal and external networks to accomplish objectives.
  • Support the selection, onboarding and training of machinists and technicians.
  • Lead or contribute to project teams, including setting goals and driving execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and serve as a technical consultant on engineering matters.
  • Represent the business unit by communicating current and future manufacturing capabilities to stakeholders and customers.
