About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer II position is the intermediate level position in the manufacturing engineering series. Under moderate supervision, the incumbent will support all manufacturing aspects of the development, specification, implementation, measurement, and optimization of manufacturing tools and processes. Incidentally, the Manufacturing Engineer II will work both independently and as part of a team. The Manufacturing Engineer II is the second level within the Manufacturing Engineer career path.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering
  • 4-7 years of relevant professional-level work experience with 3-5 years of experience in a factory environment
  • Proficient written and verbal communication
  • Understand and be able to implement drawings according to the Engineering Drawings specification (PI H-3-73002)
  • Work as directed with Senior level personnel/managers in interpreting QA Inspection Data
  • Understands the basics of 2D Drawings and 3D Modeling
  • Must be familiar with general manufacturing techniques
  • Knowledge of corporate and industry standards
  • Demonstrate initiative by understanding what actions need to be taken and completing the required tasks while seeking the perspective of others as required
  • Demonstrate an honest and forthright presence by taking responsibility for own mistakes and not blaming others, and by doing what he / she commits to doing
  • Work as a team player to make a difference within the business and express gratitude and appreciation to others who have provided information, assistance, or support
  • Readily handle change through taking advantage of lifelong learning opportunities and being open minded and curious in the face of new challenges
  • Must be able to travel by air
  • Must be eligible to obtain passport
  • Occasional overseas travel for extended periods required
  • Occasional Domestic Travel required
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and service various manufacturing equipment or product/r process concern
  • Design and implement fixtures to facilitate efficiency gains and cost reductions
  • Work closely with manufacturing personnel to develop and optimize shop floor processes
  • Able to contribute to cost calculations and labor estimates with moderate supervision
  • Serve as back-up machine operator for various machines on the manufacturing floor
  • Support manufacturing operations in daily activities when requested
  • Follow all appropriate ISO specifications
  • Complete general manufacturing tooling drawings when required in AutoCAD
  • Support items placed in Suggestion System
  • Participate in product development meetings when requested
  • Participate in design reviews when requested
  • Create BOM structure in accordance with manufacturing, production, and Phoenix Contact process requirements
  • Other duties as assigned by one's Manager
