About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting the Bayport, MN facility Engineered Materials assets at Andersen Corporation. The Engineered Materials team is seeking an individual contributor to support operations involved in the production of various composite materials. We are looking for a candidate with a background in continuous improvement, machine troubleshooting and capital equipment projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening and presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Lean and DMAIC analyses and problem-solving approaches
  • Experience working with collaborative, cross functional teams
  • Strong aptitude in problem solving using analytical tools and making process improvements
  • Experience with change management strategies
  • Knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD

Responsibilities

  • Daily Troubleshooting – Work with the shift technician and operators to solve daily downtime, quality, and process issues.
  • Future State Planning & Projects – Coordinate process trials and testing with RD&I for future F products. Lead equipment readiness efforts for future Fibrex products.
  • Design, source, purchase, install and commission initiatives and projects to support composites production.
  • Continuous Improvement – Work to continuously improve systems, processes and various equipment in Engineered Materials space. This ranges from small projects to larger projects. Examples include: 5S work, records digitization, process improvement, SOP creation, adding sensors and measurement devices in key process areas, and equipment upgrades/modernization efforts.
  • Maintenance and upkeep – Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities internal and outsourced. Manage and procure spare parts inventories with Central Stores team.
