The Manufacturing Engineer II will be involved with helping to determine process flows, labor, and machine standards as well as proposed plans for changes to the process, equipment, and tooling to ensure reliability. The selected candidate will also assist in determining safety practices and documenting procedures. Expectations To excel in the role, you should: Improve processes by using the latest technologies in manufacturing to reduce costs, improve safety and increase operational efficiency. Ability to use AutoCAD, Solidworks, Esprit, FlowXpert, FlowPATH, FlowCUT, and FlowNEST. Lead or participate in cross functional project teams designed to introduce new products, improve existing products, better our manufacturing process or, advance our competitive advantage in the marketplace. Ensure the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum cost. Provide expertise in areas such as setups, machine tool capabilities, machining methods, tooling, fixturing, and material handling. Ability to perform cost savings and ROI analysis. Responsible for preparation of cost estimates for new products, costs of new equipment and related tooling, and compilation of schedules for new product introduction. Ability to coordinate and prepare budget for major capital equipment procurement, plans, tool design, production tooling, and vendor tooling projects to meet the company’s strategic operations initiatives and operational plan. Establish and document methods and time standards, measure production capacity and relate same to forecasted business levels. Schedule and plan for equipment replacement and provide technical assistance to equipment maintenance personnel. Ensure compliance by manufacturing departments to HSE, Quality Assurance programs, and customer specifications. Conduct employee indoctrination, training, and testing to assure conformance to certification programs. May be required to obtain licenses and certificates related to areas of responsibility. Promote LEAN manufacturing principals and usage of its tools. A people person that can be hands on with the assemblers and machinists.
