About The Position

Provide design, process, and problem-solving support to the TM assembly line, Aerial Offline assembly line and hose department. Design, coordinate & support the build process for subassembly build carts, fixtures, racking, and other design projects. Assist in the lean journey by supporting 5S and waste reduction. Serve as the machine guarding road map champion. Improve overall safety, training, and accountability with the machines/equipment the team members interact with on a daily basis. Support safety road maps, safety improvements projects for each support area, 5S improvements by area. Cost savings projects with a total of $200,000 annually. Cycle time and productivity improvements. Tulip app development, training and production shop floor roll out. Continued application support to debug & make improvements. Product tracking & RRT app specifically. Rapid Response Team Member, short term in direct support of Big Line 2 install area. Large scale process flow observation, documentation & assistance with improvement action items (R/P). Lead Sustainability Committee. Organize meetings, help with monthly data entry task, perform action items for sustainability improvement. Hose cell setup & equipment purchases for Waukesha sit.

Requirements

  • Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a Manufacturing Engineer-related occupation.
  • Position requires demonstrable experience with the following: Lean knowledge in Waste elimination, evaluating processes and distinguish between value-add & non-value-added tasks, work with production team to make improvements, critical problem solving through use of 5 Whys, 7 Ways, Fishbone, Pareto charts, Flowcharts, RCCA, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activities, utilizing PDCA.
  • CAD software - including DraftSight for 2D layouts; integral in cell/line/facility modifications & moves used for large facility changes and purchases including concrete additions and crane installations; DXF templates for waterjet & laser cut parts; SolidWorks and/or OnShape for creation of 3D parts & assemblies that will be purchased or fabricated through a variety of processes; and release all assemblies, drawings, part files into SolidWorks PDM Vault for engineering control & ease of implementation.
  • Performing cost savings calculations using Excel templates, developing capital expenditure presentations using PowerPoint templates; cost savings calculations; quoting documentation; identify & quantify Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale impacts.
  • Develop applications in Tulip, design original applications and implement which include performing testing, training & effectively roll out applications to the production team & support staff.
  • Observe the processes & completion of process/value stream mapping using Visio, identify current process concerns, prioritize, and develop action items to alleviate/eliminate concerns, and create future state process flows to visualize elimination of concerns and reduction of wastes.
  • Perform Project management tasks associated with small & mid-scale projects, utilize Microsoft Project, Teams channels, Excel to track project tasks, document updates, and establish timelines.
  • Utilize vinyl cutter software, Labeltac software, Canva & Cricut for creating floor labels, cart/rack/part labels, and tool shadows.
  • Utilize 3D print software (Markforged & Eiger) to create & print 3D printed parts for prototyping, fit tests, production parts, small fixtures/components for process improvements.
