Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, preferably in industrial, process or manufacturing.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering position required.
  • Must be able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fundamentals of plane, solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Email) required.
  • Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in CAD for design, CAD/CAM for manufacturing, and circuit design for electronic systems.
  • Must have previous experience working with ERP systems.
  • Process Optimization: Ability to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Equipment & Automation: Extensive experience leading and managing automation and equipment projects within a production environment, from initial concept through final implementation. Proficient in creating technical specifications and quotes for new equipment and automation cells.
  • Product Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Ability to collaborate with design engineers to ensure products are designed for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma: Proficient in applying Lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous process improvement. This Includes proficiency in: Line balancing, Kanban implementation, developing Standard Work and Process Instructions, leading Kaizen events, conducting Time studies, and implementing Ergonomic and Cost-saving improvements.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts (while in the Production shop).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in problem-solving, along with a background in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Frequently utilizes ESPEC Problem Solving methods to identify and resolve issues with work outputs.
  • Provides problem-solving support to production teams.
  • Collaborates with design engineering on product design and tooling to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborates with Production personnel to analyze existing work processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by applying expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, and incorporating operator feedback.
  • Proactively analyzes manufacturing processes to identify areas for optimization, focusing on reducing time, eliminating errors, and streamlining operations through the introduction of new technologies or procedures.
  • Participates in the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process and assists with the implementation of changes through Production.
  • Collaborates with all levels of Production and design engineering to identify and implement improvements to standard designs, standard manufacturing processes, and product flow.
  • Other duties as assigned.
