About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing operations. This position focuses on CNC machining technology, automation, industrial software, and data integration. The engineer will lead efforts to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and production performance by integrating sensors, cameras, robotics, and machine controls with manufacturing control and tracking systems. This role collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams and serves as a technical problem‑solver for complex manufacturing and automation challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining environments, including strong working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, automation, or industrial engineering role.
  • Proficiency with industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, serial communication, and digital/analog I/O.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to research, interpret, and analyze technical and production data to drive improvements.
  • High attention to detail in programming, documentation, and system design.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with computer science or software development concepts.
  • Programming experience with Java, C, C++, or LabVIEW.
  • Hands‑on experience with industrial robotic systems.
  • Working knowledge of project management principles.
  • Experience designing and implementing automation solutions in high‑volume CNC manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate software technologies that communicate with a wide range of CNC, automated, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic to support production tracking, machine control, and data acquisition systems.
  • Specify, integrate, and interface sensors, vision systems, and devices across CNC and automated equipment.
  • Design and implement data connectivity solutions, including reading from and writing to SQL, SAP, and Microsoft Access databases.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and eliminating micro‑stoppages, inefficiencies, and reliability issues.
  • Program, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize robotic automation systems.
  • Design, document, and maintain automation, controls, and electrical schematics for new and modified systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, purchasing, designers, and external suppliers from concept through system implementation.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring timelines, documentation, and technical standards are met.
