The Opportunity Our location in St Paul, MN, currently has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer II. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. This position will support and improve existing manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product.quality.

Requirements

  • Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, , Biomedical or related Engineering area
  • Minimum 3 years Manufacturing engineering experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • PowerBI experience preferred
  • Previous electronics manufacturing experience preferred
  • Previous regulated manufacturing environment experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities

  • Support and continuously improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality.
  • Proactively seek out improvements and solutions to quality and productivity issues.
  • Support production by responding to line down issues and other manufacturing concerns raised by the manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain and manage all production status and statistics information for the assigned product lines (production line owner).
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process and equipment.
  • Utilize tools like DMAIC, A3, Gage R&R, Cp, Cpk, and SPC to improve processes.
  • Understand manufacturing concepts like Value Stream mapping, 5S and Visual Workplace to improve quality, labor efficiency, and throughput.
  • Lead project efforts within Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost priorities (example: CAPA ownership)
  • Generate and modify manufacturing process documentation.
  • Work with cross functional manufacturing teams
  • Develop and implement process improvements.
