About The Position

At East Penn, we’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer I who’s excited to make an impact! In this role, you’ll help keep our battery manufacturing operations running smoothly by updating AutoCAD drawings, supporting equipment projects, and collaborating with teams across the company. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with mechanical/electrical drawings and a background in manufacturing.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Comfort using printers, plotters, and manual measuring tools.
  • A basic understanding of automated equipment technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills — you can explain technical details clearly to non-experts.
  • A collaborative spirit with the ability to build relationships across teams and with vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects independently.
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving creativity, and a sharp eye for detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Update existing battery manufacturing plant floor plan drawings in AutoCAD
  • Assists Manufacturing Engineers on equipment projects in all battery manufacturing plants
  • Prepare prints, written documents, memos and meeting minutes as needed
  • Maintains quality of work produced by the department
  • Analyzes cost and benefits of various solutions, followed by appropriate recommendations
  • Actively participates in activities for assigned projects including the planning, development and execution of project plans, schedules and tasks
  • Assist in establishing resource requirements and coordinating project resources (internal, suppliers, consultants, etc.)
  • Utilize appropriate planning and effective organizational project management processes
  • Attend regular team meetings
  • Coordinate efforts between departments to ensure proper hand-off between team members
  • Monitor milestones and progress/completion of tasks, and f ollow-up on outstanding matters; if needed, escalate issues appropriately for resolution
